Laura Juarez is an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation (Nʉmʉnʉʉ). She brings over 30 years of administrative experience within the County of Kern to her role on the Board, currently serving as an Office Services Coordinator for the Aging and Adult Services in Administration.
Throughout her career, Laura has worked across multiple essential county departments, including the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Public Defender, Child Support Services, Juvenile Probation, and the District Attorney’s Office. This extensive history in public service has been instrumental in her work as a Board member, providing her with a strong foundation in organizational coordination, project management, and teamwork.
Driven by a lifelong passion for helping others, Laura has served on the Board of Directors for the Bakersfield American Indian Health Project (BAIHP) since 2018. She focuses much of her community work on providing critical resources to elders and older adults with disabilities. Since 2013, she has also worked closely with the Kern County Commission on Aging (COA), the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Advisory Committee, and the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC).
In addition to her board and county responsibilities, Laura is a California Notary Public. She is proud to use her experience to bring people together and help our Native community thrive.
